Koda, a Northern Inuit male dog, decided to try eating a fishing hook – it didn’t get far- just part way down the oesophagus.
At West Midlands Referrals we managed to get it out with the help of a metal tube, an endoscope and a bit of patience! The oesophagus was checked afterwards with the scope to verify no bleeding or significant damage had occurred.
No food for 24-48 hours while the redness goes out of the site, then food as normal!
