Case: Joint mouse .. or joint elephant?!

Bailey is an 8 year old Labrador. He has had chronic right elbow degenerative joint disease and lameness, but recently a left elbow lameness was evident. A mobile blob of cartilage and bone was visible on xray and palpable in the joint when he was under GA.

These mobile fragments are called joint mice … but this one was so big it would have been better¬† described as a joint elephant … It was removed with a straightforwards surgical procedure and Bailey walked out happily on the evening of surgery.¬†IMG_0104IMG_0106-300x225IMG_0107-300x225
