Practice Administrator

Ann has been with West Midlands Referrals since its founding in June 2011, when she was invited by founders Andy and Jon to join them as head nurse. Before this, Ann had been working with Andy for several years in his mobile surgical business. During her time as head nurse, Ann gained her ILM Level 5 Certificate in Leadership and Management, led the team to achieve the RCVS Standards Award and celebrated her 30^th year of veterinary nursing.

However, when Ann’s health unfortunately deteriorated, it became necessary for her to hang up her greens and step down from nursing and management. But that didn’t stop her and she took on her new role as practice administrator.

As practice administrator, Ann has a wide variety of responsibilities including invoice approval, diary management, equipment management and all things health and safety. Ann is the health and safety champion, first aider, mental health first aider and radiation protection supervisor at WMR. She also leads the green team, having helped WMR to achieve the bronze Investors in the Environment (iiE) sustainability Award, with ambitions to achieve silver in the near future.
