Lead Nurse - Wards

Kelly qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2012. Working within a first opinion training practice she thoroughly enjoyed establishing nurse clinics and building a good rapport with clients.

She completed her RCVS Advanced Diploma in 2017 and was keen to utilise her new skills so moved to a Veterinary Centre to gain experience in a variety of orthopaedic and soft tissue surgeries allowing her to broaden her surgical skills.  It was here that she successfully progressed to the position of Surgical Nurse.

Kelly joined West Midlands Referrals in March 2020, looking to further increase her skills and knowledge. She enjoys all aspects of the role and in particular enjoys scrubbing in for surgeries, nursing patients in recovery and assisting with endoscopy.

She undertook the RCVS Postgraduate Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Nursing (Surgical Nursing) in September 2021 and became Lead Nurse of Wards in October 2021. She hopes to develop this area so all her colleagues find a new appreciation for an area which can get very busy and loud!
