• Un-united anconeal process removal

Although the loss of this “keel” of bone removes one of the elbow's stabilising features, these dogs usually do very well after surgery. We have seen other cases where these loose fragments have even become infected if they are left unoperated.

Floki was doing well at rechecks with us in Burton-Upon-Trent, and lameness was resolved, though some significant future degenerative joint disease is likely in this elbow.

Hugo was a 1 year old 38kg cross breed, signed over to a practice that refers to us a lot. He had an un-united anconeal process which we removed surgically. it fragmented somewhat during removal.
